About Our OR Team
UPMC Shadyside’s OR is a dynamic, 24-bed surgical unit handling over 60 cases daily across a wide range of specialties including neuro, cardiac, ortho, vascular, urology, plastics, thoracic, robotics, and more. We serve a significant oncology patient population and pride ourselves on a collaborative, team-centered culture. Our transition to a self-scheduling model and limited weekend surgical schedule supports a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities
•     Provide constructive feedback to healthcare team members and participate in nursing peer review.
•     Demonstrate advanced clinical assessment and analytical skills within Relationship Based Care.
•     Apply the nursing process to foster a healing environment.
•     Collaborate with patients to set daily goals and develop holistic care plans.
•     Maintain thorough documentation and facilitate caregiver communication.
•     Build compassionate relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
•     Perform scrub role duties (required for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023).
