Professional Staff Nurse, OP (RN) – Casual – OBGYN

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse is a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

Limited Casual, Hourly Must be available at least 1 day per week As scheduled during office hours:
Monday – Friday Dayshift, between 7:00 am – 5:30pm

Responsibilities:

Actively participates in quality improvement efforts and identifies opportunities for improvement. Takes responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction with care and service quality. Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to improve clinical care. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all staff, departments, and patients/families. Works effectively in complex environments, handling multiple priorities and specialized equipment. Demonstrates good clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Exhibits mobility, manual dexterity, and physical stamina for patient care tasks. Applies adult learning principles in teaching patients, families, students, and new staff. Provides detailed teaching to guide patients and families through care episodes. Supports the development of students, new staff, and colleagues through open dialogue and feedback. Formulates patient care goals and plans, considering individual needs holistically. Triages patient situations and coordinates care with physicians. Assists physicians with patient assessment, evaluation, and education. Identifies and addresses clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues. Communicates effectively with care providers and negotiates patient care changes. Ensures comprehensive patient documentation to promote caregiver communication. Incorporates organizational goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Creates a compassionate patient experience by building healing relationships. Demonstrates accountability for professional development and quality improvement. Participates in shared governance, goal setting, and change processes. Engages fully as a care team partner and adapts to change. Develops productive relationships and demonstrates accountability, enthusiasm, and commitment. Understands cultural differences and promotes healthy relationships. Maintains work-life balance and models safe work hours and time management. Communicates safety hazards to peers and management.
