Work Schedule: Orientation for this position is Monday through Friday 0700-1530 for 6 months (non-experienced) or 6 weeks for (experienced) minimum training. Once off orientation, the applicant will choose from 8 hours shifts, 10 or 12 hr shifts to work.

The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN OR demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

Responsibilities:

Provides direct perioperative nursing care to surgical patients before, during and after procedures in accordance with clinical standards and surgical protocols. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure patient safety, procedural efficiency, and optimal surgical outcomes. Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment by following strict infection control practices and accurately accounting for instruments, sponges, and sharps. Continuously assess patient conditions and surgical progress, documenting care provided and responding promptly to changes in patient status during procedures. Participate in pre-op and post-op briefings, debriefings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance teamwork, communication, and patient outcomes. Performs scrub role (requirement for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023). *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.*Performs other duties as assigned.
