Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT). Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Provides group therapy and individual therapy as needed, to persons with addictive disorders and behavioral health issues using psychotherapy and other specialized therapeutic social work techniques and best practices to treat and educate individuals on how to cope with their addictions. + Prepares and maintains a complex caseload of clients who have a history of substance use disorders, other mental health issues and co-occurring disorders. + Completes a thorough psychosocial assessment on clients who are seeking addiction treatment services. + Develops with each client their individual treatment plan listing goals and objectives, strengths, weaknesses and action plan. + Evaluates client’s progress in counseling sessions and document client’s progress, setbacks, or any changes for each contact in his individual chart. + Consults with multidisciplinary treatment team to determine the proper diagnosis and correct level of care based on that diagnosis. + Prepares discharge plans and summaries upon client’s completion of program and assesses and assists each case for necessary referrals to other facilities. + Formulates and implements therapeutic activities for each client based on their individual treatment needs. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational or Job Appointment. Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Professional Counselor 1, 2, 3, or 4. Work Schedule: 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday, 4 hours on Friday. Location: Capital Area Human Services District's Addiction Recovery Services (ARS). Compensation: The minimum salary for this position is as follows: + Professional Counselor 1: $18.38/hourly; $1,470.40/bi-weekly + Professional Counselor 2: $19.67/hourly; $1,573.60/bi-weekly + Professional Counselor 3: $21.05/hourly; $1,684.00/bi-weekly + Professional Counselor 4: $22.52/hourly; $1,801.60/bi-weekly **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
