Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
This role will focus on producing and curating written, visual, and digital content related to food sovereignty, Indigenous ecological knowledge, MSU gardens and native plants, and place-based knowledge specific to the MSU campus.
Desired Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
+ Research and develop engaging, culturally respectful content
+ Provide web copy, and other content highlighting Indigenous knowledge systems and their connections to MSU’s landscape.
+ Assist with documenting MSU gardens and native plant areas
+ Support the organization and updating of existing website materials to ensure relevance and accuracy.
+ Collaborate with communications and web teams to publish and promote content.
Qualifications:
+ Strong writing and research skills.
+ Background in Native American studies, environmental studies, or related fields.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Commitment to respectfully representing Indigenous perspectives and knowledge.
Duration:
This is a temporary position with 5-10 hours of total work expected.
