What you will be doing as a Production Welder:
In this role, you can expect to perform a variety of production welding operations on different metal parts, ensuring smooth and fully penetrated welds. You'll also have the opportunity to assist both higher and lower grade Welders, enhancing your skills and experience. Join us to be part of a dynamic team creating the future of flight.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Welding Operations: Perform fusion welding processes (solder, tungsten inert gas (TIG), spot, seam, orbital) on various metal alloys, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, magnesium, and titaniumEquipment Setup: Set up parts and operate welding equipment, input sequence of events in work center console, and improvise holding and locating devicesMaterial Preparation: Clean, form, and position parts, tubes, and assemblies; determine welding sequence to minimize internal stress and defectsFinishing and Testing: Grind and smooth welded parts to appearance specifications, perform leak tests on welded parts and assembliesAssembly and Adjustment: Check, join, straighten, or hand form detail and welded assemblies; operate power machines like band saws, drill presses, and sandblasting equipmentHeating and Quenching: Select proper heating coil and holding fixtures, adjust time cycle and voltage, regulate coolant flow, prepare quenching media, and apply flux and solder ringsWhat you need to be successful:
A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is requiredMust be able to obtain 3 tig weld certifications (of your choosing and with supervision approval) within a period of 9 months of entering this classification. Certification choices include:AluminumStainless SteelTitaniumSteelInconelMust be able to pass written welding exam and annual eye examAbility to work in working conditions exposed to sparks, fumes, heat, and other shop floor related environmentWhy join us?
