Job Description What You'll Do: As a 3rd Shift Production Tooling Specialist, you'll be responsible for the critical maintenance and preparation of tooling for our production machinery. You'll work closely with teammates, group leaders, managers, and other departments such as Quality and Warehouse. Your key responsibilities will include: + Maintaining, inspecting, and preparing punch, die, rotary tooling, and knife units to ensure they are press-ready. + Troubleshooting and repairing tooling, including replacing gears and bearings on rotary tooling. + Sharpening tooling and rotary dies using a die sharpening machine. + Operating vertical milling machinery, drill presses, and surface grinders for tooling maintenance. + Building knife units and assisting with complex slitter changeovers. + Performing set-ups on production machines related to punch and die units, rotary tooling, and knife units based on prints and instructions. + Inspecting incoming tooling for adherence to specifications and expediting corrective action with vendors when necessary. + Maintaining accurate records of repairs, inventory, and usage through handwritten documentation and software. + Ordering and expediting parts as needed. + Collaborating with vendors, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering to determine production methods for special items. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent. + 3+ years of experience operating vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders. + Proficiency in reading blueprints, following instructions, and using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). + Strong math skills (decimals, percentages) and mechanical aptitude. + Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills.
