Job Description

Production Technician Line Lead, Machine Shop – Central Machine Shop 

 

Location: Bolingbrook, IL 

 

Position Overview 

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Lead Technicians to join our Machine Shop team. As a Station Lead Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our machine shop operations, developing a team of Machine Shop Technicians, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction are met. 

 

Responsibilities 

Safely operate all shop equipment. 

Oversee and lead a crew of Machine Shop technicians at a focused station in the manufacturing and assembly process. Station leads are responsible for supervision, implementation, and execution of safe, efficient, quality work at their station.  

Support the development and improvement of internal controls, processes, and procedures used in the manufacturing and assembly processes 

Plan and execute workflow to meet production targets and deadlines. 

Capable of operating welding and cutting equipment and completing metal fabrication projects. 

Read and comprehend technical drawings and bill of materials. 

Read, comprehend, and implement technical operating procedures. 

Disassemble and reassemble wind turbine components. 

Ensure accurate and complete quality documentation is maintained and signed off in a timely manner. 

Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment. 

Assure all activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with Invenergy policies and procedures.  

Create, Manage, and Maintain detailed quality records with respect to completed work product. 

Assist with flatbed shipment unloading/offloading. 

Assist with inventory management. 

Provide a high level of professionalism and technical expertise. 

 

Required Skills 

High School Diploma or GED required. 

One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education. 

Knowledge of oxy/acetylene cutting processes  

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software. 

Ability to teach, demonstrate, lead, and develop other employees 

Positive attitude and a strong work ethic. 

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety 

Desire for continuous learning and a willingness to take on challenges. 

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes on short notice. 

Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds). 

Must be able to climb ladders 

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. 

Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

 

Preferred Skills 

Experience operating overhead cranes. 

Experience operating forklifts. 

Experience in technical or shop environments operating shop tools and equipment 

A degree in a technical discipline is preferred; 

MIG/TIG welding. 

This is a safety sensitive position. Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working for the company. 

Base Pay

$25/hr to $47/hr

15% Bonus

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
 
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
