DuPont Chambers Works is seeking a Production Technician.

This position is responsible for performing a sequence of simple and complex operations required to carry out a 24/7 chemical manufacturing process, in a safe and efficient manner. This role will package, ship, and receive finished, raw, or intermediate materials and use tools, equipment, control systems, and knowledge necessary to accomplish assigned tasks while adhering to strict safety and environmental guidelines. A successful candidate is a highly self-motivated individual who can work both independently, and within teams, with minimal guidance.

This position will work the DuPont 12-hour rotating shift schedule with rotating blocks of 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am shifts. The rotating shift schedule includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work overtime, when required, per business needs.

This is a union represented role located at the DuPont Chambers Works Plant in Deepwater, NJ and will require less than 5% travel.

Pay is $41.86 per hour base rate with an expected progression to full pay rate dependent on achieving qualification. This role is eligible for additional pay allowances per the site union contract including: shift differential pay, call-in allowance, hold-over allowance, over-time rate, and holiday-time rate.

Your key responsibilities will be/what you will do:

Production Technician role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Learn all operating tasks and jobs associated with the chemical manufacturing process, including startup and shutdown.

Monitoring and controlling the process via DCS (Distributed Controls Systems).

Monitors lab results and adjusts process parameters as required to maintain product quality.

Performs alarm and interlock checks.

Performs field patrols, takes scheduled readings of equipment, and makes needed process changes.

Works with process / technical group on Management of Changes (MOCs) and projects.

Package, ship, and receive finished, raw, or intermediate materials.

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in work area.

Communicate technical issues.

Supporting logistics duties and the on-site materials warehouse.

Participate in writing Work Instructions for routine tasks.

Use computer programs: SAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Sharepoint, Sample Manager, DuPont E-Mail

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

High School diploma or G.E.D.

Effectively read, write, comprehend, and speak English.

Follow outlined policies and work procedures

Troubleshooting skills; ability to thick and act quickly and in a safe manner

Sit/stand/walk up to 12 to 16 hours per day, walk up and down stairs, kneel, crouch, crawl. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Push and Pull up to 180 pound drums.

Natural or corrected vision equal to the standards of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.

Ability to work a rotating shift schedule including holidays and weekends on days and nights.

A high degree of work schedule flexibility.

Preferred:

Associate degree in related field

Experience operating a Forklift

Mechanical aptitude (ability to use hand tools)

DCS (Distributed Controls Systems) experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Responsible for working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, and chemicals. Must adhere to strict safety and environmental guidelines including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when appropriate. For example: gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, coveralls, face shield, goggles, aprons, respirators.

The Pay range for this role is $32.40 - $50.92 Hourly
