Richmond Smurfit Westrock is the leading paper and packaging company and a best-in-class employer. Our people are our most important asset, and we are looking to expand our production team. Training starts at $21.79. Training and onboarding take place on the day shift and may last 60 days depending on your ability and readiness to move to the floor. You will most likely be asked to go to night shift or our swing shift.  Our plant is not climate controlled. 

 

Openings are primarily on our split or swing shift, but you should be available to move to either day or night shift if opportunities open to advance. Richmond Container is a union shop. Virginia is a right to work state, you are not required to join the union however you must respect the Collective Bargaining Agreement. We are a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing facility. Night shift 7PM-7AM  Day Shift 7AM-7PM Split Shift (2) day & (2) nights Requires Saturday availability

What you need to succeed:

Experience with high-speed, high-volume work. Manufacturing experience or similar experience is preferredWillingness and ability to operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific direction, operate powered equipment, and other duties as assignedAbility to push, pull, bend, squat, lift, reach and kneel for up to 12 hours a day and push or pull up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis. You must be able to stand for 12-hour shifts.        Ability to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on your position. We cannot guarantee shift availabilityAbility to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skillsReliable transportationWe count on our team and your co-workers count on you.
