Production Support Analyst 1

Job Title: ITS Consultant 1 - Support Engineer

Location: Burbank, California

Travel: 25%

Key Responsibilities:
1. 3 years of applicable technical experience.
2. Work under routine direction. Use limited discretion in resolving problems or inquiries. Work without frequent reference to others.
3. Facilitate any support needed between onsite and offshore team deliverables.
4. Interact with and may influence immediate colleagues. Will collaborate with some external contacts (as needed) with internal end customers, suppliers, and partners.
5. Perform a range of varied work activities as per scope. Contribute to routine problem resolution.
6. Use basic Typescript coding skills.
7. Use fundamental database skills in Structured Query Language (“SQL”).
8. Understand network principles and protocols.
9. Absorb complex technical information and communicates effectively at all levels to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
10. Perform a range of varied work activities as per scope. Contribute to routine problem resolution.
11. Understand and use appropriate methods, tools, and applications.
12. Support in risk assessment to PSE Lead.
13. Take the initiative to keep skills up-to-date and to maintain an awareness of developments in DES L3 production support services
14. Perform detailed analysis of application performance issues (e.g., Stored Procedures (“SP”) failures, long running queries, jobs, timeout issues, deadlocks, etc.) and suggest / implement circumventions with the help of development teams.
15. Work on maintaining the application availability.
16. Communication on issues, client / customer calls and validations status / updates on changes, patches, and upgrades.
17. Collaborate with the necessary teams with primary goal of resolving the issues with less / no customer impacts.
18. Maintain knowledge repositories and create documentation for future reference and easier access.
19. Collaborate and work with the respective teams to find the root cause of problems and work with development teams to fix it permanently."

Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, SQL, MongoDB, APIs and messaging services
2. AWS Experience and knowledge
3. Expert in supporting and debugging applications in JavaScript (NodeJS, React), SQL and MongoDB.
4. Experience with working on applications in Linux-, Windows-and Cloud-based platforms
5. Strong analytical problem-solving skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
6. Basic understanding of networking principles, fast file-moving technologies/protocols (Aspera and Signiant products), on-premise storage/mapping, and cloud-based storage solutions (specifically AWS S3)
7. Proactive work style with the ability to work autonomously
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain and document the systems to their diverse audiences
9. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively with team members across multiple disciplines
10. Experience using version control systems (Git, Subversion, etc.)
11. Experience in supporting Production environment applications
12. Excellent communication skills in business level English
13. Extensive experience in Customer-Facing roles
14. Ability to work in an on-call rotation after hours
15. Ability to translate technical information into user-friendly language

Desired Skills:
1. Solid understanding of various deployment tools and processes (Docker, etc.)
2. Basic understanding of information security principles
3. Knowledge of asset management and transport system functionality
4. Able to comfortably multitask and context switch frequently
5. Able to make important decisions when given incomplete and conflicting information
6. Highly self-directed, being able to both manage and (re)prioritize the multiple, concurrent, and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions that sometimes occur during the creation of software solutions in a rapidly changing environment
7. Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
