Statement Summary/Job Description:
The Hourly Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities within the assigned shift or department. The role includes managing a team of hourly employees, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and meeting operational goals. The supervisor will monitor productivity, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Components of the role: Lead and supervise hourly employees, ensuring they are properly trained and adhering to safety and operational procedures. Assign daily tasks, monitor employee performance, and provide coaching or corrective actions as needed. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and effective communication. Ensure efficient and timely completion of production or operational tasks in alignment with company goals. Monitor and manage equipment and facility usage to ensure operational continuity. Troubleshoot operational issues, resolve conflicts, and report any significant problems to the Operations Manager. Enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and take corrective action as necessary. Ensure that all products or services meet quality standards and customer specifications. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, and safety metrics. Prepare shift reports and provide recommendations for process improvements. Ensure the operations team meets or exceeds customer expectations through efficient service or product delivery. Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and timecard management for hourly employees. Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members. Promote continuous improvement by encouraging employees to participate in training programs and skill-building activities.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the Hourly Operations Supervisor's role. Skills /Competencies: Ensure all safety and quality guidelines are being followed. Maintain legible, neat and accurate records and reports. Must have leadership abilities, positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have an understating of the plant record control procedure. Must be able to demonstrate planning/organizational skills and behavior which will contribute to the overall team effectiveness. Must be able to work well within a team environment as well as work effectively with all associates. Capable of learning intermediate Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word, Matrics, and ZPI skills. Strong planning/organizational skills and communication skills. Understanding of requirements and importance of documentation. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required. Associate or bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Experience: 2+ years of experience in an operations or supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, and lift to 50 lbs. if necessary.Working Conditions:
