Production Supervisor - This role may be assigned to the Cat Litter Department (Day Shift) or Unit Dose Department (Day Shift).ROLE SUMMARY:
This position oversees the efficient flow of materials and finished goods within a multi-plant operation, ensuring accuracy in receiving, inventory management, production support, and shipping. Responsibilities include enforcing safety and quality standards, resolving discrepancies, supporting R&D and quality initiatives, training staff, and coordinating schedules to maintain 24/7 operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):
Monitors the unloading of all materials into the plant Ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material receivedResolves discrepancies with Accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports Monitors the flow of paperwork for timely data entry. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the plant in an efficient, effective, and safe mannerMonitors and measures shipping office for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of materialMonitors and enforces procedures to reduce Customer ComplaintsEnsure compliance with quality, regulatory and feed safety systems in order to protect our customers and ultimately our brandsThorough knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, State), product safety, GMP and preventative quality systemsEnsure Operations department provides finished goods on time and in the right mix with-in a multi-plant environmentMonitor production and changeover efficiencies and work to improve themSupport each department supervisor in regards to production and goalsSchedule preventative maintenance activitiesOperational support of R&D projects as related to processing and product developments and improvementsSupport quality initiatives on new products and product changesEnsuring that employees are fully trained, following SOP’s and accurately completing paperworkDetermine workloads in Warehouse area and publish schedules to accommodate 24/7 operationsManaging the timely submittal of accurate timekeeping and overtime recordsEnsure safe working practices are understood and followedEvaluate department employees and making hiring/termination recommendationsFulfilling on-call duties several times a yearFamiliar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principlesMINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
