The Production Supervisor is responsible for fostering a performance-driven and continuous-improvement environment for production operations and has accountability for the safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance of the group under responsibility.
This role is for 2nd shift- Typically 2p-10p
Responsibilities Supervises manufacturing activities in a plastic injection molding and packaging environment. Manages all productivity and quality-related issues within the manufacturing teamServe as the voice of the operation, coordinating with maintenance, quality, safety, and engineering personnelHires, develops, and trains direct labor personnel Monitors production, technical, and support personnelEnsures that safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and procedures are followedInitiates and documents Safety hazards, Corrective Actions, and ensures on-time completionInitiates and oversees quality and process improvementsLeads and carries safety and quality process auditingMonitors and reports on shift-related key performance indicators (KPI’s), including scrap monitoring, and Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Undertaking special projects as requiredPromote and use techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma and Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing)Work and rotate between day shift and night shift based on business needs in a 24/7 operation.Ensure compliance with the production schedule. Qualifications BS or BA degree 3 plus years of supervision experience in a high-speed manufacturing environmentStrong lean manufacturing and six sigma knowledgeExperience leading improvements processes in quality, productivity and safety.Excellent people leadership skillsExperience managing production schedulesHistory of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Post graduate education or MBA degree5 plus years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior Plant Management and budget responsibilityAutomation implementation experienceLean or Six Sigma CertificationExperience in injjection molding and/or extrusionBilingual - English and Spanish
