Workplace Arrangement:
Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors through compliance to refresher training in Alchemy, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.
III. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Executes the production schedule for processing products to meet established product quality specifications and packaging requirements while ensuring compliance to safety, environmental and regulatory policies. Coordinates and supervises the activities of the hourly staff to meet the customer delivery requirements and achieve overall equipment effectiveness targets on the plant’s bottleneck resources in fermentation, filtering, or concentration.
Trains new and existing team members on equipment operations, maintains and updates standard operating procedures and working instructions. Must follow established procedures and equipment set points in order to achieve QC approved products and standardization practices
Assists the Plant Supervisor and/or Plant Manager in implementing and conceiving new initiatives with the purpose of improving plant performance driven by, but not limited to, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such, as safety performance, quality performance, product cost/lb, volumes produced (in grain gallons), overall equipment effectiveness (% to nameplate capacity), % OTIF (On Time In Full), and inventory levels.

Key responsibilitiesIV. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A. Essential Functions:
1. Ensures accurate production reporting in SAP and supporting reports necessary to measure daily, weekly and monthly performance to KPI targets.
2. Responsible for the scheduling of all production personnel. Approves vacation requests and arranges for coverage. Posts the schedule weekly for employees, and updates Kronos schedules and time off requests daily. Approves timecards in Kronos weekly.
3. Leads and coordinates employee element of assigned work group to maximize efficiency. This includes activities such as hiring & termination of staff, corrective actions, annual review process, training, coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, and other disciplining of staff.
4. Owns employee communications within scope of responsibility to include daily Tier 1 and shift handover meetings to review safety, quality, customer service, maintenance and production performance.
5. Continually ensures and oversees the cleanliness, sanitation and appearance of the equipment, facility sanitation and housekeeping procedures to ensure compliance with established internal programs and regulatory codes.
6. Progresses facility initiatives to achieve continual improvement with CI foundation of 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain), root cause/corrective action, visual controls, Tier boards, etc. as part of the 1KPS (Kerry Plant System).
7. Becomes an expert in department(s) overseeing—Fermentation, Filtering, and Concentration, and any other process streams by understanding & coordinating the equipment operation, procedures, SQF, HACCP, GMP, Safety, sanitation, preventative maintenance programs and personnel capabilities.
8. Trains new and existing team members on the operation of all production system controls such as control software (Wonderware), SAP, and standard operating procedures.
9. Empowers employees to effectively perform their tasks independently at the expected level by ensuring that the necessary knowledge, training and tools have been provided while developing training tools where needed.
10. Will help the site implement new equipment, develop SOP’s and complete product qualification steps on new equipment.
11. Assures that working instructions and process descriptions are up to date, accurate and accessible to all team members through the Intelex. Assures all procedures and instructions are adhered to in the production process.
12. Validates critical control point (CCP) adherence in the fermentation production processes to ensure adherence to established quality assurance, GMP and regulatory procedures.
13. Participates in developing finite production schedules at weekly scheduling meeting. Schedules and coordinates the daily activities of the operators to meet production requirements.
14. Reports all equipment and instrumentation malfunctions immediately for repair and assists in trouble shooting and diagnosing problems to ensure timely repair. Initiates maintenance work orders.
15. Interacts with the Process Engineer to optimize the yields and processing parameters. Participates in process troubleshooting and HACCP teams for continuous improvement of existing and new process equipment.
V. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (CONTACTS)
A. INTERNAL: Interfaces with production manager, other production supervisors/leaders, plant engineers, operations and administration staff, production operators, supply chain and R&D staff.
B. EXTERNAL: Rabbinical staff, established industry leaders for training and improvement initiatives, governmental representatives including the MDA
Qualifications and skillsVI. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION: A two-year or four-year degree preferred in engineering, food technology or business, with 5 years progressive manufacturing experience..
B. EXPERIENCE: In absence of two or four-year degree, a minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing plant within a related industry. Prior Leadership experience is desirable.
C. SKILLS Ability to understand functioning process equipment. Good communication, leadership, planning and organizational skills are required. Influential track record in training. Must have good computer/IT skills; and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite as well as an aptitude to learn new systems.

Ability to climb mezzanine stairs to access process equipment and computer interface points, lift loads up to 50#.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The position frequently requires the ability to hear and to communicate verbally.

The typical hiring range for this role is $64,000 (minimum) to $105,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
