Job Title: Production SupervisorJob Description This position involves working as a supervisor responsible for making batches, charging materials, and assisting in supervising a team of approximately 10 people. The role focuses on overseeing a specific area of the facility rather than the entire location. Responsibilities + Identify opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and training, ensuring buy-in and successful execution. + Oversee chemical reactions on a gram to multi-kilogram scale independently. + Supervise isolations and purifications of products and intermediates using standard manufacturing techniques. + Analyze and interpret operational data for trending and investigative purposes. + Review manufacturing documentation and procedures for clarity and ability to execute on the floor; collaborate to make adjustments as needed. + Provide timely updates to Project Cells in support of customer requests. + Monitor execution of batches, including timelines, raw materials, equipment availability, and yields to ensure Right First Time. + Perform complex calculations for materials and conditions; ensure accuracy of calculations performed by the team. + Stay technically competent and current in new developments within the fine chemical manufacturing industry. + Write and review SOPs, Work Instructions, and On-The-Job training modules for content and executability. + Provide manufacturing training and leadership for subordinate manufacturing positions. + Develop, maintain, and report on manufacturing key performance indicators within the department. + Supervise maintenance and accuracy of manufacturing business tools. + Apply mechanical capabilities for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues with support from the Maintenance Department. + Embody company values of being reliable, caring, transparent, and willing. Essential Skills + Production supervision in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry. + Experience in chemical reactions and manufacturing techniques. + Ability to analyze operational data and perform complex calculations. + Technical competence in fine chemical manufacturing developments. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing. + Associate’s degree in a science-related field with 5-8 years of experience and 2 years of supervisory responsibilities. + High school diploma or equivalent with 8-10 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Work Environment The work hours are from 6pm to 6:30am following a 2-2-3 schedule. This position directly leads a team of approximately 10-12 direct reports. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr. When hired they will receive a 5% bonus. They have PTO, holiday, health, dental vision and several other benefits.
