Job Description:
Position Summary: The Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing team activities supporting the manufacturing of dental consumables. As a leader, the role will be responsible for ensuring that department objectives are accomplished through the team through effective mentorship, guidance, and professional development efforts.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday from 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Must be able to work overtime. Must be able to flex schedule for occasional trainings and events during the day, when needed.
This position will be based in Pomona, CA location in the near future, and will work from our Orange, CA location in the interim.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the manufacturing of dental consumables and drives initiatives to reduce production errors, enhance quality, and increase productivity.Takes ownership of strategic planning and execution of production plans designed to meet department targets.Analyzes, develops, and implements production strategies in collaboration with various departments to support On Time Delivery & Inventory reduction strategic goals.Adheres to production schedule, addresses department capacity concerns, and provides recommendations to leadership.Leads, mentors, and empowers the team to build a high-performing team built on trust. Supports the professional development of team members by holding regular individual meetings with team members.Supports talent retention by developing, implementing, and sustaining an effective training program for new hires and existing employees. Maintains training matrix and makes recommendations to close skills gaps and mitigate risks.Monitors performance and provides continuous feedback.Effectively recruits and hires skilled talent that will support business objectives.Manages accurate department Key Performance Indicator (KPI) board and actively participates at site KPI board.Gathers data, identifies trends, and presents information to all levels of the organization.Manages business savings and provides team members with equal opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects.Supports the escalation of potential risks and proactively presents strategic solutions.Continuously monitors the team’s capacity and presents solutions to challenges that may negatively affect department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Applies expertise and mentorship with root cause investigations and the implementation of countermeasures to counteract findings within department procedures.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including safety and HR-related policies.Champions safety and ensures completion of safety audits and reports findings to EH&S. Evaluates safety training needs and collaborates with EH&S in the coordination of training.Develops and maintains strong partnerships with various department leadership including Quality, Engineering, Research & Development, and Environmental Health & Safety and demonstrates effective and professional collaboration.Attends leadership training including legal compliance and Train-the-Trainer training on new and updated production processes, documentation, and safety procedures. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of 6 years of relevant work experience required including performing transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably Oracle. Medical device industry experience highly preferred.Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience required.Six Sigma certification is highly preferred.Skills and Abilities:
