Major Purpose Manages a number of production/maintenance departments to produce parts, end products, or execute parts orders to meet customer demands in a safe manner, on schedule, within budget and meeting quality specifications. Coaches employees, supervisors and engineers to continually improve their operations and has a continuous interaction with other leaders to ensure production/or parts warehousing requirements are met. Understands and drives lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System. Limited and narrow scope of staff direct reports. Generally, less than 75 direct and indirect reports with an operating budget of less than $5 million. Generally, has very limited Product Delivery Process (PDP) activity.Major Duties Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals. Involves coordinating across multiple teams.Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to complex inefficiencies.Oversee an operational area with guidance from senior colleagues.
