Production Planner/Scheduler

Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Materials Manager to manage master scheduling, forecasting, and procurement activities.Execute daily planning, scheduling, and purchasing across multiple value streams to maximize efficiency and minimize changeovers and waste.Develop and maintain balanced production schedules using lean manufacturing tools such as kanban, heijunka, and kaizen.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, inventory control, and operational performance using lean methodologies (e.g., pull systems, JIT, cellular manufacturing, setup reduction).Lead and support cross-functional teams in continuous improvement efforts.Manage material procurement to meet working capital goals while maintaining lean inventory levels.Maintain accurate manufacturing data systems to support budgeting, capacity planning, and production forecasting.Forecast and manage inventory levels, subcomponents, and WIP across all production stages.Create and maintain capacity plans and schedules for assigned departments and production cells.Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including schedule adherence, inventory turns, working capital, and on-time delivery.Support additional tasks and projects that contribute to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

A proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for continuous improvement and career growth.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data and drive actionable insights.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.Results-oriented mindset with a focus on improving cycle times, delivery performance, and inventory efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, or production planning.Supervisory or managerial experience is a plus.Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.Work Environment & Physical DemandsOffice and manufacturing floor environment with standard office equipment.Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 30 lbs.Requires frequent use of a computer and communication tools.Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
