Supports production in the following areas: Sales order management, forecast management, customer interface and work order maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning
Completes MRP review and exception reports.
Customer Service
Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates.Monitors pricing on incoming orders to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays.Notifies customer in the event of failures in meeting shipping schedules. Works with customers to prevent line down situations at customers.Follows up on customer requests for information on shipments.
Production Scheduling & Work Flow
Reviews and evaluates forecasts received via EDI, fax, mail, etc.Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts.Monitors MOQ amounts as wells as peaks and valleys in production demands ensuring Materials Manager has necessary data to communicate back to Plant Management and Sales.Establishes planning parameters for new product launches in facility.Researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to Manufacturing’s attention.Determines revised plan in event of failures to meet schedules.Assembles and distributes job packets and pick tickets, assists operators when job packets are incorrect (reprinting, creating new packets, etc.).Ensures operator quantity counts are accurate. Identifies and corrects any discrepancies found.
Shipping & Delivery
Maintains delivery performance metric.Creates bills of lading for shipments.Determines freight carriers, communicates load requirements, and arranges any special handling requirements (“hot” shipments, etc.).Expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contractors, etc.Coordinates scheduled shipments with the assembly and packing departments.Assists Quality with the return of SCAR goods to suppliers.
Purchasing
Completes MRO purchasing at facility level.Maintains plant purchasing cards, receipts. QualificationsCOMPETENCY

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field, one to three years planning experience, APICS Certification. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Computer literate. Ability to read blueprints
