Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to generate constrained production plans, material plans, and Work-In-Progress (WIP) inventory rationalization to improve service levels. Each day, you will assemble and analyse all data pertinent to creating constrained production plans, use rough-cut and detailed capacity planning, and link it to the demand plan. You will also showcase your expertise by optimizing working capital.

This role is contributing to the Production Manufacturing team in Napier.
Main stakeholders are Engineering and Production Managers, Product Management team, Procurement team, Customer Service Team, and local unit Operations Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Planning and developing manufacturing production schedules and material requirements to meet customer orders, manufacturing strategies, and operational objectives.
Preparing Rough Cut Capacity Plans (RCCP) and detailed production plans linked to customer orders, recommending long-term solutions and mitigation plans to address capacity constraints.
Controlling, sequencing, and adjusting production orders and schedules through detailed planning of operations and resource allocation, ensuring timely supply of resources and compliance with established ABB manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
Analysing production data on capacity, inventory levels, personnel, and lead times to identify potential bottlenecks or constraints impacting delivery commitments.
Executing plant-level Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to create and manage production requirements aligned with planned production dates.
Determining the impact of production plans on expected inventory levels, including SIE; monitoring WIP (Work in Progress); and recommending WIP rationalization initiatives.
Identifying areas for improvement in production planning processes and key root causes for deviations from production plans, recommending and implementing scheduling, inventory management, and other solutions to improve production efficiency and achieve delivery targets.

Qualifications for the role
You are highly skilled in production planning methodologies, capacity planning, and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems relevant to engineered-to-order businesses.
Demonstrate established skills with several years in production planning operations, including experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and demand planning integration.
Highly adept in analysing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and developing both short-term and long-term capacity solutions to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
Passionate about process improvement, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with a keen focus on meeting customer delivery commitments and optimizing working capital.
Proven experience or formal qualification in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or related fields.
At ease communicating and presenting complex planning data and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams in English.
Bachelor Degree is required for this role in supply chain or similar field
