The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and maintaining production cell demand and job assignments. Reporting to the Material Control Supervisor, this role manages planning, scheduling, and inventory control activities for Watts’ manufactured and assembled products. This position plays a critical role in enhancing customer satisfaction through accurate scheduling, efficient resource use, and proactive cross-functional communication.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Design and execute strategies to meet short- and long-term supply chain planning objectives.Collaborate with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) team to ensure superior delivery performance while minimizing costs.Serving as a liaison between Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, and Procurement teams.Support key initiatives, metrics, and projects aimed at improving service, cost efficiency, and overall planning effectiveness.Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build schedule.Manage daily production capacity planningSupport the demand portion of the S&OP process to align all stakeholders on immediate production requirementsSupport metrics to measure planning performanceSupport initiatives of the Continuous Improvement Teams & New Product DevelopmentMaintain accuracy of planning and inventory data in ERP systemSupport the team in the implementation and improvement of planning processes and systemsRoutinely interact with internal and external customersSupport the scheduling of sales orders and align production jobs to support operational efficiencyInteract with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure priorities are set and aligned to meet customer on-time deliveriesOrder management (maintain current and past due orders)Determine lead times for manufactured itemsEDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
3-5 years’ minimum experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Continuous Improvement initiatives and relevant software applications.Manufacturing background preferredProject Management, APICS or other related certification desiredProblem Solving/AnalysisDecision Making and Strategic ThinkingIntermediate/Advanced Excel (Xlookup, Formula Proficiency, Charting)Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management methodologies and processes related to all areas of Supply Chain beginning with new product development and sourcing, forecasting/demand planning, inventory management through to shipping, logistics, and distribution processesSelf-driven, strong problem solving abilities, project and time management skills, fast learner, organized, creative, team worker, good communications and meeting facilitation skillsAbility to work collaboratively across all functionsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
