Production Planner
Description We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our team in Blue Ash, Ohio, within the manufacturing industry. This is a long-term contract position that requires someone with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage production schedules and supplier relationships effectively. Responsibilities: • Create and adjust purchase orders and work orders to align with production schedules and ensure timely delivery. • Develop production plans on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis by analyzing capacity and customer demands. • Communicate forecasted requirements clearly to subcontracted suppliers to meet production goals. • Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with teams to drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost. • Maintain department visual boards and implement 5S practices to ensure organization and efficiency. • Partner with Value Stream, Commodity Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to address priorities and resolve operational challenges. • Support resourcing and outsourcing initiatives by planning materials to maintain product flow and meet customer requirements. • Identify and eliminate excess and obsolete inventory while rationalizing similar parts to improve efficiency. • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, to reduce waste and enhance supply chain operations. • Foster collaboration across the supply chain to ensure customer responsiveness and satisfaction. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning or related roles within manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of purchasing activities, procurement strategies, and materials management. • Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze data for planning and decision-making. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. • Familiarity with supply chain processes and methodologies, including 5S and continuous improvement. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production needs. • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to address quality, delivery, and cost issues. • Experience in fostering supplier relationships and driving performance improvements.
