Client in Richmond VA looking for an Experienced Production Planner/Scheduler
1st shift 7am – 4pm ; 8am – 5pm
responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production and distribution of materials and products to meet customer demand and internal inventory goals. This role works closely with procurement, sales, warehouse, and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of orders in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
Coordinate material availability with procurement and inventory teams to ensure minimal production disruptions.
Monitor order progress, inventory levels, and lead times to optimize resource utilization and minimize costs.
Analyze demand forecasts and adjust production plans accordingly to avoid overstock or stockouts.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to align production output with shipping schedules.
Generate and maintain reports related to production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory turnover.
Communicate any delays, constraints, or changes in the production plan to key stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, planning accuracy, and cost savings.
Use ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) to manage planning activities and maintain data accuracy.
Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain roles in a distribution or industrial manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles, materials planning, and warehouse coordination.
Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make timely decisions.
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or inventory control in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Preferred:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
Experience in industrial distribution (e.g., insulation, HVAC, building materials).
ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
Familiar with ERP/MRP systems for planning and inventory control.
Ability to read and interpret production documents, bills of materials, and inventory reports.
Understanding of supply chain processes, material flow, and production scheduling.
