Your Role:

 Production Planner role is responsible for reviewing demand plans at both global and local levels. The position collaborates with Operations and Supply Network Planning teams to integrate customer demand into planning systems. Supports the development of operational schedules that align with customer service goals and sales growth objectives, while minimizing overall inventory costs. Additionally, compiles reports and performance metrics to ensure the business has effective feedback loops for tracking progress against key objectives. Specific Responsibilities Include:  

Create operational schedules based on throughput, customer service, and all other company and/or departmental goals Experienced in using SAP /APO or similar scheduling software to optimize production schedules as well spreadsheets and databases. Maintain and audit key SAP planning master data.  Including, lot size, lead time, MRP controllers, special procurement keys, schedule margin key and purchasing typeAnalyzes planned orders, material requirements, and system designs with consideration for their impact on the global Millipore Sigma supply chain. Converts planned orders into purchase requisitions or process orders as neededIdentify scheduling constraints and test various methods and strategies to reduce or eliminate those constraints (i.e. bulk size, availability, fill time, warehouse space) Ensure a balanced load of work for packaging while allowing for flexibility with Bulk orders and minimizing WIP to ensure low cycle timesCollaborate with purchasing and production to ensure bulk availability and packaging requirements. Also, work with global and operational planning teams as needed to ensure planning designs and requirements are coordinated across the entire supply chainAnalyze inventory and forecast status to provide superior customer serviceAnalyzes reports and participates in projects to eliminate backorders, optimize inventory and increase customer serviceEvaluate, test, recommend and/or implement changes that could improve service, cycle time, throughput efficiency, inventory levels, etc. Understanding of complex processes from beginning to end and all steps in detail to perform trouble shooting and process improvement effectively

Physical Attributes:

Work will primarily take place in an office (cubicle), laboratory, and/or warehouse environment Able to comfortably view, interpret, and process information on a computer monitor for extended periods during regular working hours Ability to work effectively in environments with background noise

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED2+ years’ experience of Supply Chain Planning1+ years’ experience with SAP

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in any disciplineCurrent APICS CertificationProficient in the use of Microsoft ExcelExperience ISO standards (in relation to preparing documents)Experience in basic scheduling techniques and material requirements planning knowledgeMathematical, organizational, spreadsheet, database management, problem solving, communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and trainingAbility to work independently and adhere to deadlinesEffectively communicate at various levels of the businessHigh sense of urgencyExtremely organized and detail orientedGood judgment and analytical skills
