Job Responsibilities:

Job Summary: The Production Operator will work on precision assembly or sub-assemblies of small or medium sized units involving a number of parts, place and remove parts into various production machines, and perform assembly, fastening or other material modification operations in assembly.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

May operate presses, welders, assembly and/or robots following standard work instructions established for each workstation.

Produce quality parts and report any nonconforming parts to Area Leader

Report any machine or tooling problems to the area leader and/or setup person immediately

Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment through the Continuous Improvement Process

Maintain positive working relationships with fellow associates and keep Area Leader(s) advised of conditions within work area

Maintain proper documentation of production and inventory using CMS

Complete related paperwork, computer entries, scheduled work and tasks accurately and timely

Follow and support MBCI’s and Magna’s operating principles and employee charter

Exemplify a Safety-First approach by conforming to safety rules and procedures, wear PPE at all times and immediately address all safety concerns.  Promote an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard

Follow and support all plant work rules, quality and environmental policies

Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey

Supervisory Responsibilities:

(These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position.  Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently).

Education and/or Experience required:

High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to obtain a fork truck license and to operate overhead crane and set diesAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to set direction and make decisionsMust have good organizational skillsMust exhibit high integrity and honestyAbility to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groupsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to obtain passport for travel outside of the United States for training purposes.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Ability to stand continuously for long periods.Walking frequently.Adhering to ergonomic principles is essential for optimizing the performance of repetitive tasks

Work/Environment Conditions:

Manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety:
