The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Transfusion Medicine, Diagnostics Division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
The Production Operator is responsible for all tasks associated with production activities for aseptically filling and label application of the filled bottles/vials. Functions include but are not limited to: the operation (setup, shutdown, and cleaning) of filling equipment inside of a ISO 7 environment, the operation (setup, shutdown and cleaning) of multiple pieces of equipment in which perform quality checks and label application an open air Controlled Non Classified area (CNC), extensive documentation digitally and hard copy. Operator will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, general housekeeping, and support production activities outside their direct area or work. Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with the ability to comprehend, make decisive decisions and use problem solving skills while always maintaining quality product and area GMP.
What You’ll Work On
Follow established GMP instructions without deviation.
Ability to execute highly complex or specialized work.
Proactivity monitor production activities (clearing of minor jams) and other types of downtime issues on the line to minimize impact to production process.
Reports any abnormal equipment function or product problems as soon as identified.
Operate filling/labeling/other pieces equipment according to established procedures or specifications.
Operating multiple pieces of equipment at one time
Responsible for the accurate completion of the work order and other documentation
Safely operate of all equipment and promptly reports all incidents, injuries, or safety hazards
Maintain accurate and legible records.
Complete inspection of products and materials to ensure acceptable visual and physical appearance
Perform basic calculations.
Maintaining and replenishing production materials
Completes general housekeeping tasks.
Be a positive contributor to the production team.
Take accountability for theirs as well as the team’s performance and efficiency.
Follow basic instructions with minimal instruction.
Be able to communicate effectively: face to face, via phone, and email.
Utilization of a computer-based programs: Microsoft Office, SAP, and other custom programs unique to production activities
Shift and Training Schedule: 2nd Shift hours will be from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm Monday – Friday with Overtime on Saturdays depending on the needs of the business. There will be a 4-month training period for this position from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm with OT on Saturdays. When training is over, the shift will move to 2nd shift hours.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum 3 years manufacturing operations experience. Three years experience at a CMO production operator II or equivalent.
Keyboard skills a must.
Ability to read and comprehend written workorder instructions.
Experience in a GMP environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or applicable filling operation
Basic English
Ability to multitask and deliver consistent results with above average accuracy.
Capable of operating complex processing equipment, including set up and troubleshooting experience with complex processing equipment.
Forklift certification a plus.
Previous knowledge of SAP
Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.

The base pay for this position is $17.80 – $35.60 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
