Production Mechanic 3rd

**Position Summary:**
The **Production Mechanic I** is responsible for performing repairs on plant equipment, conducting preventive maintenance on facility systems, and setting plastic injection molds. This role requires a general knowledge of various trade fundamentals and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support production operations.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
+ Remove and install molds in molding machines according to instructions.
+ Clean and prepare molds for future use.
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
+ Operate production equipment to verify repairs.
+ Assist with assembly, cutting, and grinding tasks.
+ Provide support during machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.
+ Interpret and work from drawings, work instructions, sketches, and verbal directions.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Minimum of 1-3 year experience in a general maintenance, production, manufacturing or related position.
+ Understanding of basic rigging procedures and crane operation.
+ Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Familiarity with basic industrial equipment and safety practices.
+ Proficient in the safe use of power tools and mechanical equipment.
+ Basic understanding of machine guarding and safety protocols.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Dependable, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
+ Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
+ Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a DMV background check.
+ May be required to operate company-owned or leased vehicles.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Computer literacy.
+ Experience using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (minimum 4 hours).
+ Frequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
+ Manual dexterity and normal eye/hand coordination.
+ Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
+ Ability to distinguish colors.
+ Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
+ Reliable Transportation
**Pay Details:** $25.00 per hour
