My client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality Screen Printing machines, offers bespoke design and fabrication services for mild steel, stainless steel, and tubing, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as laser cutting, CNC bending, machining, and laser welding. They’re seeking a seasoned professional to lead their manufacturing operations, manage production schedules, and drive quality control standards to ensure on-time project delivery.
Main job function
Production Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and implement production schedules based on the company’s E.R.P system orders, customer demand and production capacity. Monitor production progress to ensure deadlines and targets are met. Allocate resources effectively to meet production goals.Team Management:
Lead and supervise the production team, ensuring they are well-trained and motivated. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to company policies. Resolve any team-related conflicts or issues to maintain a positive working environment.Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies in production processes and implement improvements. Lead initiatives for process automation, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction. Monitor and track key performance indicators to ensure high productivity and quality.Quality Control:
Ensure adherence to quality standards and guidelines throughout the production process. Investigate and resolve quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly. Oversee the implementation of safety and environmental regulations.Inventory and Resource Management:
Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure that all machinery is operating efficiently. Track production costs and work to keep them within budget.Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate production records, including output and quality metrics. Generate regular reports on production performance for senior management. Track and report on waste, downtime, and other key metrics.
Qualifications
Preferred but not required; Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering / Operations Management. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in production or manufacturing team leader / management role. Knowledge of production scheduling software and E.R.P systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Remuneration: R60 000 CTC per month
