Job Purpose
The Production Manager for Performance Polymers Division will direct and coordinate the activities of the plant in processing materials and manufacturing products in the facility as well as shipping and receiving by performing the following duties personally or through shift supervisors.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Plans production operations along with Plant Scheduler, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
+ Prepares manpower schedules for production and vacation scheduling, break schedules, and overtime coverage.
+ Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and coordinating training employees with supervisors; Planning, assigning and directing work while maintaining safety, quality, productivity and delivery; Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
+ Participate in plant audits and leadership activities.
+ Trains and mentors Shift Supervisors on responsibilities and identifies external or internal training requirements as needed.
+ Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure sufficient inventory is available for production.
+ Review production and OEE reporting and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum downtime and costs. (Note: Plant Manager, Process Specialist, Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and Quality Manager are part of the team to resolve all OEE concerns.)
+ Prevent operational delays and improve KPIs.
+ Develop or revise standard operational processes and procedures and ensure all are in compliance with standards. (Note: Quality is responsible for all Control Documents).
+ Prepare and lead monthly shift/communication meetings for All Crews. (Safety, Quality and Productivity).
+ Responsible for establishing and updating as necessary all training matrixes for production operators.
+ Responsible for plant organization and cleanliness (6S).
+ Coordinate all safety requirements with operations (Safety KPIs).
+ Coordinate with Process Specialist, Plant Engineer, and Quality Manager on MOC process.
+ Coordinate with Process Specialist, Plant Engineer, and Quality Manager on RCA concerning operations.
+ Reports daily activities to Plant Manager.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
+ 5+ years previous supervisory experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
+ Strong leadership skills including ability to hold direct reports accountable to their objectives.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while remaining focused on goals.
+ Ability to leave a team in the resolution of issues.
+ Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
+ Must be self-motivated and able to work under stressful conditions at times.
+ Basic knowledge of Office suite software
+ Strong Safety acumen.
+ Must be able to flex schedule to provide support for all shifts, and coverage for time off.
+ Must be able to cope with moving from a controlled atmosphere to plant ambient conditions several times a day.

+ **The salary range for this position is $103,400 - $129,300. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.**
