The clackamas site is committed to driving innovation and operational excellence to supply consumer ready dietary supplements in the probiotic, enzyme and botanical categories.We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Production Manager to lead and directs the Manufacturing Function for the hand sorting of defective capsule, the bottling, the blistering, the bulk packaging, and the stick and sachet work centers. This position requires an individual that loves efficiently creating high quality products and has a passion for continuous improvement and safety.
They ensure appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives, influence, shape, and integrate strategy for their areas and participate in setting a growth strategy for the business consistent with corporate goals.
They will lead the manufacturing organization of their team (approx. 50 employees) to continuously strengthen a collaborative and learning culture that delivers outstanding performance in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Quality, Productivity, and integration of New Products/Processes with high integrity.
Our manufacturing process runs 24/5 (3 shifts) and possibly weekend. It requires leadership around the clock.
The position will be directly responsible for the day–to–day management, performance, direction, and growth of manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining strong trusting relationships with the staff and leadership team. Essential functions
Directly supervise, coach, develop and inspire line leaders responsible for all aspects of production and achieving key performance measures related to personnel safety, quality and food safety, on time delivery, and production cost.Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, demonstrating active support of the Company’s Core values and policies. Lead a culture focused on continuous improvement in the areas of employee engagement, exceeding customer expectations, being an employer of choice, and delivering sustainable and profitable results.Create and maintain activities/process alignment across the different production shifts.Maintain process discipline and continually improve process reliability and performance. Identify and deliver productivity gain and capacity release. Develop, recommend, and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies Assess and implement standard procedures and operating systems in safety, quality, sanitation, and GMP’s. Foster a team culture that learns, understands, and applies rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Acts as a change agent by challenging existing approaches and performance within the manufacturing operations areas. Manage and extend their production lines capability and capacity to provides supply assurance to customers and provide agility and clarity to the sales and business teams.Leads a culture of collaboration, transparency and rapidly changing organization. Uses influence with internal stakeholders on site to ensure that business decisions and needs are met or exceeded. Oversee budget for the departments. Update staffing plan with temporary support as needed Hire staff, recommend pay increases, complete performance reviews and enable staff training and development/Provide some operational backup for supervisorsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree focused on Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or another related field (highly preferred). Experience in food or dietary supplement production is a plus Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a manufacturing team for at least 5 years in a production environment. Proven ability to be an effective member of a senior leadership team; accustomed to supporting division objectives and driving a culture of change.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and functional areas. Highly organized and detail oriented. Must have the ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions Works independently toward department objectives Computer literacy and a high degree of familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office, ERP and data warehouseStrong organizational and multi-tasking abilitiesA legal right to work in the United StatesMust pass a drug screen and a background check in accordance with HWP standards.Requirements
