Overview:
The Paramount Brand Studio West Coast Production Team is seeking an experienced, detail-obsessed Production Manager to lead and support a wide range of physical production projects spanning commercial, promo, digital/social and influencer shoots. This role requires someone with exceptional organizational skills, strong technical knowledge, and the confidence to drive projects from inception to wrap while collaborating cross-functionally with producers, creative teams, executives, and operational stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a seasoned production manager with a track record of leading complex shoots, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering seamless execution across all media platformson time and on budget. The ideal candidate also excels at fostering strong interdepartmental communication, particularly with Legal, Marketing, and Post-Production, ensuring seamless handoffs, timely reviews, and informed decision-making at every phase of production.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management & Execution
Develops, implements, and drives effective production plans for all content types, collaborating closely with both NY and LA-based Producers, Directors, Creative Directors, Project Managers, and Executives.
Manages all project phases: pre-production, production, post-production, wrap, and archiving.
Oversees in-house shoot prep, including crew hiring, locations, permits, insurance, equipment rentals, casting, catering, and craft services.
Supervises on-set execution, post-production support, and ensures all client and talent needs are met, including video village and rider setups.
Manages third-party production vendors and external partners for out-of-house shoots.
Creates and maintains all production documents: pre-pro books, call sheets, schedules, timelines, location agreements, contracts, and releases.
Finance, Budgeting & Compliance
Manages production budgets, including estimates, working budgets, reconciliations, and wrap.
Oversees production finance operations: purchase orders, p-cards, petty cash, and payment requests.
Tracks and actualizes budgets via internal systems (SAP, Ariba, Concur, Airtable).
Oversees payroll for all cast, crew, and freelancers (including union cast and crewSAG, DGA, WGA, IATSE, Teamsters), ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
Supports fiscal close processes: tracking costs, accruals, and reconciliation.
Administration & Operations
Facilitates vendor onboarding and payment processes in ARIBA/Graphite, including POs, invoices, and critical payment requests.
Oversees T&E reconciliations and maintains organized archives of production materials per company procedures.
Maintains organization of all production, post, and talent contracts through BALA.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Cultivates collaborative relationships across Legal, Marketing, and Post-Production to proactively align on deliverables, approvals, compliance requirements, and downstream timelines.
Must feel comfortable advocating for Productions needs while navigating legal nuances and brand requirements.
Supervises and mentors freelance production staff, including Production Coordinators, PAs and project-based employees.
Fosters a diverse, inclusive workforce and vendor pool.
Builds and sustains vendor and freelancer relationships; negotiates favorable rates and terms.
Risk Management & Compliance
Leads production safety planning, health, and ensures safety measures are met for productions.
Qualifications:
Required
Minimum 6 years of physical production management experience in commercial, promo, or digital content.
Bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
Deep technical knowledge of electronic filmmaking processes and production workflows.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity or ability to learn Showbiz Budgeting, Ariba, Concur, Airtable, Slack, and OneDrive.
Ability to juggle multiple projects with precision, attention to detail, and flexibility.
Strong track record of budget management, cost efficiencies, and vendor negotiation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop production teams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 97,500.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
