You'll observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. You will repair or replace defective parts and adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. You will lubricate and clean parts as well as trouble shoot hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic parts.  Responsibilities: Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power toolsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
