**SUMMARY**
Supports the production of machined components by setup and operation of computer numerical control machines, maintaining safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. Assists supervisors with the training and development of team members, maximizing the efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities to positively impact performance metrics.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
+ Provides on the job training and monitors the development and performance of team members.
+ Facilitates daily team meetings at start of shift.
+ Executes machining plan by studying work orders, materials, batch records, required tooling and fixturing.
+ Completes paperwork clearly and accurately.
+ Demonstrates a high level of creativity; continuously looks for ways to improve and safely increase quality and efficiency, utilizing the Carlisle Operating System.
+ Provides back-up for machine operators, machinists, and supervisors as needed.
+ Interfaces with engineers as required
+ Maintains and posts performance measures for SQDC Metrics in line with the Carlisle Operating System
+ Maintain machine operation while ensuring team quality, expectations and operations are met safely and efficiently.
+ Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
+ Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
+ Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
_Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis_
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ 5 years of Machinist experience required
+ 2 years 5AXIS machining required, including full setup, run, and tear down of small and large format machining centers
**LANGUAGE SKILLS**
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.
+ A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
+ Conversational in any other language is a plus.
**Job Skills**
+ A firm understanding and ability to apply conceptual skills, process improvement, functional and technical skills.
+ Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings and schematics.
+ Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills
+ Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment. Participate in continuous improvement and 5S related performance teams.
+ Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
+ Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
+ A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Proficient in MS Office
+ Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP is preferred
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

+ ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
+ Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses in specific areas
+ Hearing protection, in specific locations
+ Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
