Responsibilities This position is responsible for performing a variety of functions in the manufacturing of processed meat and sausage products. Accountabilities Create and file purchase orders, bills of lading, paid invoices, production documents, and employee and visitor badges Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public General knowledge of computer skills, Word and Excel; Lotus Notes: Ability to calculate yields, productivity and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions Understands ordering of supplies based on future needs Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Prioritizes food quality and maintains food safety, through the vigilant application and monitoring of company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Ensures that supplies are correct and available for each production runs Act as the face of the organization regarding front office duties – as applicable (checking in visitors, answering phones, etc.) Create daily reports, cycle counts, and assist with developing batch sheets for production cycles utilizing several different software and reporting bodies, including the USDA, Post, vendors and recruiting firms Pick up and distribute inbound and outgoing mail, packages, and other related orders Drives continuous improvement efforts in their area of responsibility, utilizing lean tools to eliminate waste in process, time and materials Ensures accurate record keeping of all production information in order to drive accurate capturing of production data Follows all SQF principles pertinent to the position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Knowledge You will partner with business leaders to assist with the daily operations that fall under the scope of production, purchasing, and other areas as required. You will be a presence that acts as the face of the company with all employees, candidates, external vendors, contractors, and related stakeholders. You will act as a positive force to assist with daily duties and act as a driver for company policies. As a key position in the organization, you will be expected to assist all managers, supervisors and employees with all requirements as needed. You will be expected to communicate, execute, and deliver required duties to all applicable stakeholders. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to communicate problems or issues to leadership to address concerns of product waste, quality or employee safety Qualifications Education/Experience Basic math skills, with the ability to read and write Community College, High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Four or more years manufacturing experience preferred Prior experience in an administrative role or related duties Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Oracle, etc. Strong interpersonal skills QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
