About the Role
The main purpose of the role is to act as an individual contributor in the field of production geology within a multi-functional team as part of an Operated Coal-Seam-Gas (CSG) producing Asset.

Position: Production Geoscientist
Location: Brisbane
Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months
Working Arrangement: Monday-Friday

Experience / Skills:

Proven track record with broad geoscience skills covering, CSG Reservoir characterisation, Lithostratigraphic well correlations, Integrated well and reservoir performance assessments, Static reservoir modelling, Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM) support and Volumetric estimation skills

Petrel software skills and Python scripting acumen (preferred)

Well planning and delivery skills (new and P&A wells).

Work within and collaborate with multi-disciplinary Subsurface team(s), Commercial, Tenures, Production and Concept engineering and other asset entities.

CSG/CBM experience in a geoscience capacity (preferred)

Experience in Surat basin geology (preferred)

 

Additional Job Details:

Apply geoscience expertise and professional judgment in delivering technical projects and studies.

Present completed analysis and recommendations at peer reviews, peer assists and functional reviews as part of the value assurance framework.

Deliver the generation of reliable prognoses in support of safe and efficient well-delivery and well-abandonment operations.

Deliver static subsurface reservoir characterisation for CBM reservoirs.

Ensure appropriate reservoir uncertainties are identified and incorporated into multi scenario modelling workstreams, forward appraisal and development plans.

Support delivery of geoscience elements of company East Coast assets FDPs and support delivery of subsurface workstreams ensuring functional/technical consistency across teams.

Ensure all own evaluations are documented and related data are handled in accordance with relevant technical standards.

 

Typical:

Works independently within a multi-disciplinary team, applying geoscience expertise to non-standard topics.

Solves technical challenges using company guidelines, with occasional supervision.

Integrates geoscience input into broader project workstreams.

Coaches junior staff and promotes HSSE culture, including Subsurface Process Safety.

Manages internal/external stakeholder relationships at a tactical level.

Limited risk and budget exposure; no direct reports.
