About the Role:You will be our production manufacturing expert, enabling efficient process improvement as well as ongoing maintenance ensuring utilization is maximized. You will help to develop an optimised flow of product through the pursuit of efficiency, resulting in higher availability, yield and a reduction in waste. This is a hands-on role where you can have a direct impact on the operational performance of the site.You’ll be working with a diverse, dynamic and proud team that makes and delivers microbiology culture media products that are designed to perform in demanding laboratory environments. Our products enable our customers to achieve their goals which include diagnosing illness, ensuring food safety and enabling positive outcomes for the environment.

What will you do? Lead process improvements to increase safety, reduce costs, improve quality, and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Validation and Quality to maintain cGMP compliance, an injury-free workplace, and timely product delivery.Drive a safety-first culture in all aspects of the role, lead by example and set standards for process and engagement. Ensure safety compliance of equipment and address unsafe conditions.Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns as well as coordinate and improve preventative maintenance activitiesValidate new equipment ensuring it is only released into production once it meets the sites requirements for safety, quality and productivityLiase with maintenance contractors when required and ensure work carried out is completed safely and efficiently.Lead practical process improvement (PPI) projects and activities across the site including kaizen events and training using proven problem solving tools to evaluate gaps or misses in performance and establish sustainable corrective and preventative actions.Support the site in reaching its financial targets for productivity and identify ways to reduce production costsUse lean principles to review production process flow to drive efficiency and effectiveness.Develop process flow diagrams, SOPs, and job aids to enhance efficiency and repeatability.Support production and quality investigations with data and improvement proposals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities2-5 years experience in a similar role in a relevant field – production process, continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering.A tertiary degree in Engineering or equivalent trade qualification or experience is desirable.Experience in food and beverage and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing desirable
