The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Production Controller who can coordinate the build and test of high precision Electro-Optical and mechanical systems in support of production. The Production Controller coordinates the flow of manufacturing operations products. They manage material schedules, maintain detailed inventory records, and expedite the movement of materials across departments. This role involves identifying and addressing material shortages, while serving as a crucial communication link between production, procurement, and engineering teams.
The specialist estimates production rates, documents time expenditures, and establishes operational sequences to meet shipping deadlines. Their work requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and effecti ve cross-departmental communication. Ultimately, the Production Controller is vital in maintaining efficient production processes, preventing material shortages, and ensuring timely product delivery.

Responsibilities:

Assess and communicate production plan risks to managementImplement effective inventory management to prevent shortages and excessesCoordinate material flow to ensure uninterrupted operationsDevelop and improve inventory, manufacturing, and production control processesSchedule production based on customer orders for timely deliveryExecute and monitor change orders appropriatelyTroubleshoot production issues and implement solutionsEnforce company policies and safety proceduresAllocate resources (equipment, materials, manpower) for job ordersAdjust production schedules as needed to meet deadlinesFoster positive relationships with staff and customersNegotiate job orders based on capacity and material availabilityDevelop production plans considering current and backlog ordersCollaborate with other departments to resolve planning issuesManage kit distribution from clean room to work stationsEnsure real-time Infor updates of work order completionsLiaise with quality control on production priorities and inspectionsProvide WIP status updates to relevant departmentsCoordinate with quality control for necessary stock sweeps of in-progress kitsCreate rework work ordersProvide daily updates on material challenges affecting weekly customer deliveries, including: Shortages, Part replacements, BackordersEnsure swift fulfillment of replacement materialsPrioritize and expedite "make" items to support weekly customer deliveries Collaborate with expeditors to maintain program WIP age at 60 days or lessConduct and reconcile floor countsCoordinate with stockroom partners to prioritize kit delivery to the production floor, supporting weekly delivery schedulesOther duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Required: 

Four years of experience in a manufacturing environmentFour years Previous Work Experience in a production control, inventory control, or stockroom roleFour years of experience working in an MRP/ERP systemGeneral understanding of how to follow detailed work instructions and record required information in Travelers for traceabilityRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of seven years of prior relevant experience or Secondary/Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.




Desired:

Work is typically performed in a Cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7) which requires proper safety precautions.Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle changing priorities.Willingness to learn new tasks/skills.Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, preferred.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$41,300 - $82,600
