**OPPOURTUNITY**
The position of **Production Chemist** is within our Cardiometabolic business unit located at Carlsbad, California. This role is responsible for a variety of manufacturing support functions involving the operation of lab equipment and conduct of procedures/tasks according to established GMP, under the direction of senior staff.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of production equipment
+ Responsible for cleaning and charging of chromatography resins
+ Order, Transfer, and stock laboratory supplies and materials as directed
+ Complete maintenance and calibration logs sheets as needed.
+ Carry out production tasks in support of manufacturing goals and objectives.
+ Production of small scale biological reagents as directed, following established guidelines and procedures.
+ Maintain documentation and manufacturing batch records in an accurate, timely and thorough manner.
+ Performs chromatography purification techniques (small scale).
+ Performs fermentation processes for bioreactor cell growth (small scale).
+ Perform required data entry on company planning and materials management system.
+ Carry out functions which may require multiple task coordination.
+ Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
+ Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships
+ Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
+ Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**
+ BA or BS degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences; or equivalent work experience
+ Zero to two years of experience
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records and notes, and carry out assignments in a thorough, conscientious fashion while adhering to safe laboratory practices.
+ Experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting in a laboratory environment
+ Training in the operation of lab equipment and use of lab chemicals and tools.
