Job Description
This role is a dynamic blend of production chemistry and potentially laboratory work, providing an opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks as needed. The position involves creating a slurry by mixing various chemicals, facilitating small-scale reactions, and transforming the slurry into powder using automated processes. Responsibilities also include using kilns for ceramic production, operating large screen sieves, pulverizing equipment, and performing basic washing processes. Documentation of the process from start to finish is crucial, ensuring attention to detail to prevent costly errors.
ResponsibilitiesMix various chemicals to create a slurry and facilitate small-scale reactions.Use mixing tanks with calcium phosphate, phosphoric acids, and calcium hydroxide.Convert liquid slurry into powder and collect the final product.Operate kilns to produce ceramics that imitate bone material.Utilize large screen sieves, pulverizing equipment, and perform basic washing processes.Prevent contamination throughout the production process.Document the entire production process meticulously.Potentially perform testing, including X-Ray Diffraction, particle-size testing, FTIR, and density testing.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes.Experience in documentation and analytical chemistry.Ability to work with automated processes and equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.).Experience in chemical manufacturing is a plus.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.Work Environment
The position is based in a manufacturing area, requiring facilitation of chemical reactions. Lifting requirements include up to 40 lbs daily and occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs with assistance. Standard work hours are 8-5 pm, with flexibility needed to work any 8-hour shift between 6 am and 7 pm, Monday through Friday. The culture is laid-back with a collaborative atmosphere, emphasizing teamwork and getting tasks done efficiently. The attire includes closed-toed shoes, jeans, and a t-shirt.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
