**Who will you be working with?**
You will be working as part of our field service team who are expertise to ensure on-site work are performed according to agreed procedures, safely, on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer. To perform the tasks successfully, you will be in close contact with Engineering and Project team in the UK to ensure feedback from the field is provided to back-office teams so as ensure the successful first installation, commissioning of the system as well as Warranty support.
**How will you make a difference?**
You will be responsible to provide mechanical, electrical and detailed fault-finding expertise to the engineering & project teams delivering:
+ Generic - Rail vehicle enhancement projects and component overhaul services in Hong Kong.
+ Project Specific - Mk3 Battery Electric Locomotive Electronic Upgrades, which will include, but not be limited to the following activities:1/ Factory Acceptance Testing2/ Training3/ Installation for First in Class4/ Reporting of project progress both internally and to the customer5/ Expediting the return of materials to UK by MTR during the installation phase6/ Monitoring receipted project materials7/ On call technical support during warranty period
**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Provide mechanical/electrical technical knowledge, experience and skills to engineering projects;
+ Support investigations into failures of mechanical, electrical/ electronic systems & components, determine root cause and present findings;
+ Produce technical reports;
+ Ensure that timescales for completion of activities as agreed with the local line manager;
+ Schedule works and resources according to projects planning and requirements and feedback to Project Manager;
+ Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues;
+ Manage Subcontractors involved in Installation, T&C activities and as required to support warranty activities;
+ Conform to local business processes and procedures;
+ Perform any other duties within capabilities, training or experience;
+ Quality, Health & Safetyi/ Comply with company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and other policies and procedureii/ Ensure all reports proactively participate in Health & Safety management processesiii/ Ensure that investigations and reports on failed / defective components are carried out in line with policies & procedures in a timely manner
+ CustomerDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers in such a manner as to maintain the reputation of the company as a world class supplier of railway vehicle services
+ Continuous improvementi/ Identify methods of improvement within the area of responsibilityii/ Link to the Wabtec group to deploy improvement initiatives (WMS, new technologies, etc.)
**What do we want to know about you?**
+ Degree holder in E&M Engineering or other discipline. High diploma with sound experience / knowledge will also be considered;
+ 5 years’ experience on testing, maintenance, commissioning & maintenance and failure investigation of rolling stock mechanical, electrical/electronic systems and components;
+ Outstanding technical attributes & an aptitude for fault finding
+ Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (Grade A) is preferred. Previous Holder of Competent Person – Not Track or Competent Person – Track is an advantage;
+ Ability to train others, compile technical reports and prioritize the work;
+ Able to work with limited supervision, prioritise work and make effective decisions;
+ Good communication skills; able to communicate and present technical issues effectively and concisely;
+ Written and spoken Cantonese, English and Mandarin is a MUST;
+ Good ability and knowledge in using commonly used office applications and tools, including Microsoft® Office™, Microsoft Project™;
+ Experience with using bespoke Maintenance Software Tools (plug in diagnostics);
+ Requires working at different locations in HK and occasionally work outside normal working hours to support the projects
