Product Strategist, Localization (L10n)

Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience in program management and a customer facing role.
+ Experience with localization operations and strategy or experience in internationalization.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
+ 5 years of experience managing projects and working with analytics, software coding, or customer-side web technologies.
+ Ability to craft a solution to meet stakeholder and user needs leveraging existing Menu of Services or new technologies.
+ Ability to present to executive decision-makers in a clear and compelling manner.

As a Product Strategist in the Localization team, you are a business leader, helping Google's ideas and products look, feel and sound natural to users across the globe. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Android, Play, YouTube) or a business product you are in charge of driving the localization process to ensure successful launches across the globe. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your role to keep all the players coordinated on project progress and deadlines. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide strategic insight to cross-functional teams and leadership to drive Google’s product expansion globally. You'll work with Googlers from Engineering, Product, Marketing, UX, Strategy, and Finance, to name just a few.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$157,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

+ Support the localization of one or several Google products from inception to launch, managing delivery, cost and quality of projects and overseeing vendor execution.
+ Support strong relationships with product teams, educating and advising them on their product’s localization journey. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs related to a product’s localization.
+ Be accountable for the product’s localization budget, from understanding the product’s roadmap to drive the annual planning, to advising stakeholders on optimizing their spend.
+ Understand Localization workflows and services, identify tool and process needs to enable operational scaling, collaborate with Operations and Engineering to support deployment, with guidance from the Portfolio Lead.
+ Build compelling case for new business opportunities develop insightful recommendations and drive development and implementation. Structure and package your work into presentations and communications that influence various audiences.
