Job Description
Within the Immunology business, the Gastroenterology Business Unit (BU) operates in a dynamic, rapidly expanding market. Today, this BU is clearly a key driver for AbbVie’s business and will remain so for the coming years. After years with a first very successful molecule (adalimumab, also known as Humira), the gastro team has successfully launched several innovative molecules in different indications: Rinvoq for Ulcerative Colitis, Skyrizi for Crohn Disease, and Rinvoq for Crohn Disease as well. Most recently, this successful portfolio was further enhanced with the upcoming launch of Skyrizi in Ulcerative Colitis.

Mission & Responsibilities
Business Impact:
Execute our brand strategy and tactics in the field—in close collaboration with the In-Field Team. Provide the Brand Team with relevant insights to support and refine strategy. Ensure optimal outreach in the field through a multi-channel approach.
Take responsibility and accountability for sales performance through effective territory management and a targeted account-by-account approach. Use a dedicated challenger method to conduct impactful scientific discussions with stakeholders.
Build strong customer relationships and understand customer needs—always putting the patient at the center of every effort, and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets, aiming to meet or exceed expectations.
Develop a pre-call plan using SMART objectives, and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales results. Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns effectively, consistently securing logical next steps and actions to close each sales call.
Proactively and continually strive to meet customer needs and challenges in order to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that meets set metrics and optimizes contact and coverage for key customers—maximizing access and sales opportunities by leveraging all communication channels, including digital.
Continuously build an understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, competitors, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise, and share this market intelligence with the in-field and brand teams to ensure alignment, anticipate changes, and optimize brand strategy and execution.
Communicate AbbVie’s value proposition to assigned health providers, and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Be the primary contact for your targeted HCPs—optimizing accessibility and share of voice by identifying additional call opportunities.
Ensure accurate planning and reporting of calls, appointments, and meetings in the CRM system. Lead the collection of administrative documents for HCP contracts and provide full documentation to assistants in line with OEC and AbbVie guidelines.
Play an active and constructive role within the IFT; collaborate optimally with MSL colleagues to build and implement account plans. Gather and share market insights with IFT colleagues and the Brand Team.
Ensure top-tier compliance by adhering to all applicable rules and procedures (OEC, Finance, BTS, Purchasing, Material Review, Pharmacovigilance, etc.). Understand all rules relevant to your function, complete assigned training on time, plan activities well in advance, proactively discuss any issues, and act as a compliance ambassador.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business or equivalent.Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial pharmaceutical roles, recent experience in immunology is an asset.Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; demonstrates strategic and critical thinking.Strong digital skills, including use of CRM tools, remote engagement, and digital communication channels.Proactively identifies customer styles/behaviors and adapts selling approach accordingly.Proven track record of successful sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas preferred.Solid presentation skills.Fluent in French and English.
