The Product Specialist – Fire Pumps will serve as the subject matter expert for Ferguson’s fire pump product line, driving product knowledge, customer support, and market growth. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to build and maintain trusted customer relationships. The specialist will play a key role in shaping product strategy, supporting sales teams, and ensuring a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary expert on fire pump products, addressing all customer inquiries, technical questions, and product-related issues.Collaborate with sales, operations, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on strategy, customer satisfaction, and growth objectives.Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and provide technical support to both internal teams and external customers.Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new growth initiatives.Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor to address their evolving fire protection needs.Track and evaluate product sales metrics to provide actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making.Stay current on industry regulations, emerging technologies, and market advancements to ensure Ferguson remains at the forefront of the fire protection market.Provide training, guidance, and product expertise to sales teams and internal departments to strengthen overall organizational capability.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.7+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, or fire protection industry, with specific expertise in fire pumps strongly preferred.Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, codes, and standards (NFPA, UL/FM listings, etc.).Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and drive growth strategies.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to diverse audiences.Proven track record of building and maintaining customer relationships at all levels.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.At Ferguson, we care for each other. Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
