Product Owner, Performance and Analytics

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Owner to support Performance and Analytics capabilities for Wealth Management Canada (WMC). In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of analytics and performance-focused product initiatives, including leading a large-scale migration project integral to WMC’s ability to deliver enhanced portfolio metrics, insights, reporting and analytics to Advisors, Counsellors and Clients. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology and operations teams, and external vendors – helping support the migration and reconciliation activities part of the integration of a new performance and analytics engine into WMC’s portfolio management ecosystem, executing on the product vision and roadmap, setting backlog prioritization and providing support for all performance and analytics information.

What will you do?

Assist with the migration and reconciliation of performance and analytics data from WMC’s existing portfolio management platform to a new performance engine, working closely with the integration team to validate calculations, identify breaks, clarify requirements and facilitate a seamless implementation

Define and maintain a clear product roadmap that aligns to WMC business objectives and manage backlog refinement, ensuring features are data-informed and prioritized by business value

Actively participate in project meetings, sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies to set goals, clarify priorities and drive progress

Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and document detailed requirements and use cases, as well as business areas and operational processes impacted by project activities

Coordinate and participate in the execution of user acceptance testing and user feedback sessions (including prototyping sessions, beta testing, review/approval of IT test cases, and branch pilots), gathering and analyzing feedback from users and stakeholders to inform product decisions and enhancements

Turn data insights into actionable product features and assist in monitoring their impact using key metrics

Coordinate readiness and go-to-market activities, including field communications and training material, in collaboration with Transformational leads, Go-to-market, and Communication teams

Seek out industry trends, competitive intelligence, regulatory updates and organization/process knowledge to inform future state requirements, best practices and the desired Advisor Team experience

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

3+ years of product management experience

5+ years of progressive experience in portfolio management and/or Client Reporting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proven collaboration and change management skills

Experience managing internal and external partners that contribute to the delivery of products

Ability to work effectively in situations involving rapid change and shifting priorities

Post-secondary education (University or College) or equivalent experience in a similar role

Nice-to-have:

Financial designation such as CFA or CSC considered an asset

Experience managing a large, data-focused initiative

Critical thinking discipline with ability to think outside the box and consider innovative new approaches

Problem identification and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements of complex processes/programs

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
