The Senior Principal Product Manager role within the Oracle Database group performs a vital function by defining product requirements for Application development-centric functionality, working closely with Engineering to build product roadmaps and prioritization, setting product messaging, and ensuring that our offerings delight customers and differentiate from competitors.

This role performs a number of different functions:

Defines highly differentiated capabilities and use cases that will be used by some of the largest, most demanding Enterprises in the world. Works closely with Engineering teams to establish the stated direction of features and ensure the integration of new features into existing or new offerings. Acts as the primary source of business and technical enablement, ensuring that technical collateral is generated that enables future solution implementations. 

To accomplish the broad range of functions, a Senior Principal Product Manager needs to have a broad skillset:

Deep technical background in database technologies and the SQL language. Foundational understanding of application development methodologies, design patterns and best practices. Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. This also extends to communicating with both technical and business audiences with equal skill. Business acumen in the context of understanding business pressures that customers face in making technical decisions, and the impact of product decisions on Oracle technologies. Ability to create a strategic vision, using the Minimum-Viable-Product as a starting point, regarding the ultimate direction of the product under the PM's management.
