Product Manager- Neptune Design System
Ecolab is seeking a skilled Product Manager to drive the development and implementation of our Neptune Design System. You'll work at the intersection of design and development, leading a cross-functional team to create a comprehensive component library that ensures consistency across our digital experiences. This role combines technical understanding, product management expertise, and project leadership to build a design system that transforms how we deliver products to our customers.

Develop and own the roadmap for Neptune Design System components, prioritizing based on business needs and technical considerationsLead a cross-functional team of UX designers and front-end developers, coordinating their efforts to deliver high-quality design system componentsLeverage and integrate AI tools like Claude for code generation, testing, and component developmentEvaluate and select appropriate tools that enhance the team's efficiency in design system developmentEstablish governance for the design system, including contribution models, versioning strategy, and documentation standardsCollaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand requirements and ensure the design system meets their needsCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for design system components and usage guidelinesCoordinate with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of the design systemMentor and guide engineering resources in best practices for code creation and component developmentPromote the design system through presentations, workshops, and internal communicationsTrack and report on design system metrics, including adoption rates and impact on development efficiencyMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Design, or related field and 8 years of professional experienceStrong project management skills with the ability to create roadmaps, manage dependencies, and track progressExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both designers and developersDemonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specificationsExperience with Agile methodologies and relevant project management toolsImmigration sponsorship not available for this rolePreferred Qualifications:
Prior experience managing the development or implementation of a design systemFamiliarity with design tools such as Figma and code-to-design tools like Builder.ioExperience with design systems or component librariesFoundational understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, React, and AngularExperience leveraging AI tools for design or development workflowsKnowledge of accessibility standards and how to implement them in design systemsUnderstanding of design tokens and their implementation across multiple platformsExperience with component testing strategies and quality assurance for design systemsAbility to create consensus among diverse stakeholders and drive adoption of new processesExperience with style guide creation and maintenanceKnowledge of versioning strategies for component librariesPassion for the intersection of design and technology with a user-centered mindsetInterest in collaborating with partners outside of core team / organization (including SMEs in the AI space) Ability to wear multiple hats and plug into different roles as the system develops Desire to be in a fast-moving, agile environment with willingness to adjust quicklyAnnual or Hourly Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $149,700.00 - $224,500.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
