Join our team and start your journey today! **Job ID: JR109406** About the Role As a Product Manager at Copeland, you will own the full product lifecycle—from concept and development to obsolescence. You’ll shape product roadmaps, evaluate market dynamics, and serve as the subject matter expert for your segment. This role blends technical expertise, business acumen, and strategic vision with the ability to drive tactical execution. You’ll research market opportunities, understand customer challenges, and develop products that deliver real value. Collaboration is key: you’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Manufacturing to bring products to market. In short, you’ll be the advocate for your product line—guiding the team to deliver solutions customers trust and love. **What You’ll Do** + Lead design and development of products that integrate with HVACR systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and REST. + Partner with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of protocols across supervisory building management systems. + Manage new product development (NPD) deliverables in line with Copeland procedures; own the product lifecycle including aftermarket support. + Define strong value propositions by understanding user needs and designing solutions that address market challenges. + Analyze competitive products, market positioning, and industry strategies. + Develop and execute 5-year product roadmaps, setting clear priorities and incorporating customer feedback (VoC). + Ensure products meet segment-specific and end-user requirements. + Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver end-to-end product development. + Assess legislative trends, market dynamics, and end-user requirements to generate and evaluate new product ideas. + Build business cases with ROI justification for product initiatives. + Oversee product line performance including SKU management, profitability, pricing, forecasting, quality, and lifecycle planning. + Monitor delivery performance, capacity utilization, and customer quality metrics; implement corrective actions when needed. + Serve as Copeland’s liaison to industry associations, providing insights on products, markets, and applications. + Collaborate with Product Marketing on go-to-market strategies, content, campaigns, and channel planning. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience + Strong understanding of product management processes and technical specifications + Knowledge of building automation systems (HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, energy management) + Experience with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, REST, or similar protocols + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available) + Co-op or internship experience in a related field **Preferred Qualifications** + MBA + Knowledge of HVAC/R industry (electronics and controls, markets, products, customers, competitors) + Experience marketing technical products in a manufacturing environment + Skilled at presenting to diverse audiences + 2–5 years of product management or related experience **Schedule** We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex2 work from home days. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.
