Duties
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a PRODUCT MANAGER to join our Services and Specialties PMM Team.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager Services and Specialties, you will have specific responsibility for developing the Product Portfolio in order to maximise profit and achieve agreed targets, achieving this through direct lead product management accountability and shadow accountability within the business
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Assist in the preparation and review performance of annual targets/budgets
Take corrective actions where appropriate to recover targeted levels
Negotiate with suppliers to secure appropriate purchase/ distribution agreements and prices
Control selling prices to maximise gross margins through maintenance of pricing tools and systems
Establish, monitor, and update selling schedules for products
Manage interface with suppliers (and colleagues) to improve incoming service levels/delivery performance etc. via VPM and other appropriate means
Liaise with supply chain planners to determine forecasts and appropriate stock levels
Interact between stock/sites/suppliers and sales on commercial matters including product availability forecasting and allocation
Identify aged stock and take appropriate actions, highlighting necessary actions for any unproductive inventory, and reviewing and actioning DSI data
Work closely with Marketing and Digital to ensure these added value options are maximised
To give support to external sales personnel, through technical advice, attendance at both virtual and physical customer meetings
Improve margins not only through the cost of goods, but also by supporting any relevant market or value driven pricing initiatives
Identify new/potential suppliers/products and recommend and implement appropriate action plans
Effectively launch new products into the product range and ensure appropriate personnel receive the relevant training
Collate and present market information to suppliers and company personnel, including provision of a monthly business performance report to an agreed template
We Are Looking For
Strong commercial operator, with a proven track record in delivering growth and high motivational levels driving a desire to succeed
Good numeracy and statistics skills
Must have knowledge of Excel and current business tools (e.g. Salesforce, Tableau would be beneficial)
Ability to communicate efficiently and with candor and haste when required
Flexibility is required to meet the varying tasks that the role requires
You will strive for excellence in your accuracy of information whilst maintaining a calm approach
You should have the ability to meet all strict deadlines
You must be customer focused, providing excellent service, at all times and it is essential that you’re a good team player
