Product Manager, Group Disability Insurance Solutions

What is the opportunity? 

Are you interested in working within a client-centric and innovative group insurance business and a team that is focused on best-in-class product development and management, fostering a culture of collaboration and agility, and empowering employees to deliver value for our clients, advisors, and partners? Working closely with the broader Product & Pricing team, you will help identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the Group Disability Insurance Products and supporting services, to drive new revenue and increase profitability, efficiency, and client retention. You will be responsible for managing the day to day of the Group Disability Insurance portfolio and will be the key point of contact for claims, Marketing, sales and service teams, and other key business areas across Group Insurance Solutions.

What will you do?

•Support product development and management activities associated with the group Disability Insurance solutions; participating in ideation, information gathering of product and system requirements. Assist with the development of business cases to support product development initiatives.

•Conduct deep dives into select areas to improve business performance and implement solutions that maximize product effectiveness, efficiency and quality, drive sales, and improve client experience. Leverage data and insights to drive product innovation and recommendations.

•Partnering with key Head Office Stakeholders by being the key point of contact for group disability related inquires

•Collaborate with internal and external partners to address ongoing product issues and developments including underwriting, pricing, and operations

•Maintain an awareness of the competitive and industry landscape. Monitor the regulatory environment to determine business risks and impacts. Recommend and implement policy and process changes as required.

•Maintain all related internal and external product materials such as, but not limited to training materials, product guides, proposal and contract wording.

What will you need to succeed? 

•Minimum 3 years of experience in the Group or Living Benefits, disability claims adjudication, underwriting, consulting, or pricing environment

•Experience working with data to generate insights and action plans

•Ability to manage multiple priorities and in cross-platform teams with proven ability to build and leverage partnerships with cross functional and external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, influencing skills and organizational skills

•Ability to lead initiatives from ideation to implementation

•Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions

•Creative problem solver and decision maker with a strong analytical and curious mindset

• Undergraduate degree with Business orientation
